Magnitude 7.0

2010 Earthquake | Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Drowned in smoke, debris and disease Haiti is a collage of hope, disaster and fate.  The land I was walking on resembled a battered child; weak, alone and abandoned. Surrounded by the ashes of an unforgiving incident, the smiles and aspirations of millions lie in the hands of “help” and themselves. The concept of God, re-defined, stronger, weaker and dissolved into the pain that lies in the heart of the helpless and the lost. The game of black and white soaks the land like the pure drops of water that soothe the skin of the scarred child. The sunlight beaming down broken windows and abandoned aspirations create a chill that can only be captured in silence. A witness with a lens, the essence of every photograph describes the painful reality of people in Haiti.
